Purpose
- The SARS-CoV-2 Rapid Antigen Test (Colloidal Gold) is a colloidal gold method intended for the qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein antigens in saliva, nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swabs from individuals.
- Each package contains everything needed to perform the tests.
- Each test has a separate diluent.
- Quality certificates and CE mark available.
Note: As with all diagnostic tests, a definitive clinical diagnosis should not be based on the result of a single test, but should be made by a physician only after all clinical and laboratory results have been evaluated.
Principle
The SARS-CoV-2 Rapid Antigen Test (Colloidal Gold) is a colloidal gold method based on the double antibody sandwich principle. It is designed for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein antigens in saliva, nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swabs from individuals suspected of having SARS-CoV-2 infection. During testing, the sample migrates upward by capillary action. SARS-CoV-2 antigens, if present in the sample, will bind to the formed immune anti-SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein monoclonal antibody-colloidal gold complex, then the immune complex will bind to the membrane with pre-coated SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein monoclonal antibody on the T-line, and a visible colored line will appear in the test region, indicating a positive result. In the absence of SARS-CoV-2 antigens, there will be no colored line in the test region, indicating a negative result. As a procedural control, a colored line will always appear in the control region, indicating that the correct volume of sample has been used and there is adhesion to the membrane.
